Singing essays

Singing essays If I could write about one thing and one thing only, I would write about singing. I know many people who sing whether they actually have talent or not, but singing is my true passion; it is not just something I do in my spare time or just another accomplishment to check off of the list of things I can do, but rather it is something that has true meaning to me. I dare say that it is the most important thing to me in my life besides God and my family. It is something I know that I will always have. While the athletes and beauty queens will eventually lose their skills and flattery, I will always be able to sing or at least listen to the music that I hold so close to my heart. I never thought I would end up as a vocalist. When I was younger I always chose choir over band, but I never really enjoyed it. It was just something I had to do because I couldnt play an instrument. I always thought of music people as strange: the dorks who were too uncoordinated to do anything else. But now I know that musicians are some of the most brilliant, coordinated people in the world. When I entered Junior High at Briarwood Christian School I joined the choir because none of the other electives really interested me. I sang small solos in some of the songs, as did everyone else, and I would participate in some of the choir festivals and concerts that were held, but I never took it seriously. I didnt even think I could really sing. However, toward the end of my eighth grade year everything changed. The choir director at my school wanted me to participate in a solo festival that was being held for beginning singers. I agreed to do it, not knowing what I was getting myself into. My selection was Here I am, Lord, arranged by Jack Shraeder.
